Children with juvenile RMDs often struggle in silence. Many of these diseases are chronic, not yet curable, and can affect joints, muscles, organs, and the immune system. In severe cases, conditions can involve the kidneys, brain, heart, or lungs and require complex, multidisciplinary care.

Across Europe and globally, access to specialised paediatric rheumatology care is still unequal. Many countries lack trained specialists, meaning that children may wait months or years before receiving a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
